Running OS X 10.5.6 and have been copying/installing/restoring tens of GB's over the last few hours and the iMac hasn't missed a beat. When I checked the drive ( Apple system profiler info on drive "revision" (firmware version)) after installing I see it had 1AA0 1113 firmware (this was purchased in AU). And one iMac owner that did said the problem was only with OS X - not with other OS's like Linux.-Mike) Mac Pro and G5 tower owners typically didn't report problems with earlier firmware drives, but several 2006 iMac owners did.
